I am an enthusiastic and experienced teacher, with a passion for primary science, environmental education and sustainability. During my 33 years in the classroom, I taught all year groups including early years.
As a science lead I was given the chance to lead on many projects and initiatives, including the Primary Science Quality Mark, Space Camp Sleepovers, Eco Flag Awards, Food for Life, and many others.
As a science consultant I have been able to lead training with teachers on the National Curriculum and how to be an effective science leader. For 14 years I led the Primary Science course for the local SCITT. I have supported teachers in the East Midlands and love hearing their stories of success.
With my primary school we won several awards for our science projects and I was lucky to share our work at national and overseas conferences. I am currently on the Association for Science Education Primary Committee and work part time with the Primary Science Teaching Trust.
I love supporting teachers and can’t wait to start working with Leicester schools.
