Jane has over 30 years’ experience in the education sector and still continues to teach part time at a Lincolnshire Primary School. Prior to her teaching career, she spent time working in the science industry with ICI, which initiated her love for science and for sharing that with others. She loves enthusing the pupils, especially to become more knowledgeable and passionate about science, alongside developing their understanding of how science can open doors and enrich their lives.

Jane is extremely proud to be a Chartered Science Teacher, an accredited Senior Professional Development Lead for STEM Learning, a Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) Fellow and a committee member for the Association for Science Education (ASE).

Jane works as an independent primary science consultant based in the Midlands, across a wide variety of contexts with teachers and subject leaders, delivering training and offering bespoke support programmes.

She has been involved in science advisory work for the past 25 years and has written, planned and delivered CPD, along with recorded webinars for a range of organisations, including Multi Academy Trusts, local authorities, national utility companies and STEM Learning. Jane writes educational resources for a number of national organisations including Association of Science Education, National Farmers Union, Environment Agency and STEM Learning.

Jane also delivers Primary Science training at various universities for their PGCE, ITT and SCITT programmes.

Since September 2025, she has  become an Ogden Trust trainer and regional advisor where she delivers primary physics CPD and works with local partnerships of schools to develop their physics provision.

Jane has had the role of an Edina local consultant previously for Lincolnshire and is also an Edina Trustee.
