Emma shares a treasure trove of innovative, easy-to-follow experiments and playful learning resources. Learn more about friction and speed using the ramp.

Easy STEM Challenges for Kids

Science Sparks also have a range of STEM Challenges, including creating a Rocket Mouse, a Sinking and Floating Challenge, a LEGO Towers Challenge, and more! The activities come with recommended ages as well.

K'NEX Activities

If you would like some ideas and instructions for STEM Challenges using your K'NEX, take a look at the K'NEX User Group website.

You could take part in STEM Point's annual Go Construct K'NEX Challenge. This provides primary age children with an introduction to the world of engineering and technology, delivered by STEM Ambassadors who are trained to deliver the sessions in school.

Primary Science Teaching Trust: Science and STEM Clubs

Off the shelf resources for running extra-curricular clubs for children, with Children's University accreditation available. PSTT has a number of ready-to-go club packs that will have pupils engaged in practical investigations.

PSTT also shares lesson plans and ideas developed by teachers, for teachers, via their TAPS database. Refine your search to the Forces topic and select the appropriate age group to find what you need.

The Royal Society of Chemistry

Explore wide-ranging ideas for creative science activities that tie in with common primary topics. Medium-term, cross-curricula planning tools can help you to embed science in lessons on space, the Romans, World War II and even the Stone Age. They also provide a variety of biology, chemistry, and physics links for you to choose from.
