RHS campaign for all schools to have a garden, and upon free registration, they will provide each school with a free start up kit, free seeds every year, newsletters and rewards for progress.
The Great Plant Hunt

The Great Plant Hunt develops children's understanding of the natural world and is an ideal free resource to help you teach the primary science curriculum. A Darwin treasure chest containing seeds, a teachers' resource pack, a Darwin story book, a plant identikit, magnifiers, posters and more was sent to every primary school in the UK in March 2009.
The Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust is offering 'Free Trees for Schools' for Autumn 2011. Schools can register to receive a free 'edible trees pack'. Each pack contains 30 saplings made up of species such as Dog Rose, Elder, Cherry Plum and Hazel. The Woodland Trust also offer resources for linking trees to the curriculum as well as free activity packs for teachers and resources for schools.

Grow your own Potatoes

'Grow your own Potatoes' is a project that teaches primary school children about potatoes. Schools can register to receive a free potato growing kit - registration for 2011 is now closed but schools can register for 2012. The website also offers teacher resources such as lesson plans and worksheets, as well as links to the curriiculum and healthy eating advice.

Garden Organic offers advice on growing your own fruit and veg, how to make your own compost, things to do in your garden each month, as well as factsheets, activity sheets for schools, growing cards and resources for teachers. The growing cards include information on vegetables, fruit, herbs, edible flowers etc., and include details such as: when to plant, harvest and prune, and what equipment you will need.
