Ysgol Capel Garmon

Ysgol Capel Garmon used their Edina grant to purchase 100% recycled plastic raised beds, a water butt, a planter, and gardening tools for the children. The school are now able to grow a wide variety of their own vegetables including potatoes, spring onions, beetroots, carrots and lettuce, which they use in their school dinners.

"The amount of pleasure and educational value we have had already from our activites has been unmeasurable"
Teacher, Ysgol Capel Garmon

Ysgol Sant Elfod

Ysgol Sant Elfod used their Edina grant to purchase vegetables, and to enhance their wildlife garden by creating a slate path. Each class was involved in the planting of the vegetables, which are now used in the school canteen. The children were also involved in laying the slate path, which has transformed the garden by creating a formal walk way to guide pupils around the various sections of the garden.

"The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and had the opportunity to learn about some of the vegetables as well as watching them grow."
Teacher, Ysgol Sant Elfod

Ysgol Maes Owen
